Here are the answers to some of the questions that we are asked by our customers.  Of course, if you can’t find the answer to your question, feel free to contact us.

Why Felt?

Felt is a tactile, visual product that provides children an opportunity to use oral and receptive language skills, mathematical knowledge and imagination.  “The more a toy does, the less a child learns.  The less a toy does, the more a child learns.”  Our felt products provide a high-touch, not high-tech toy that will allow your children to develop and grow.  Learning through play is the best way because it is fun!

Can I wash the felt?

Yes!  Put the felt into a laundry/stocking bag and wash it in with the rest of your wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.  Then you can iron the felt on a low setting once it is dry.

Can schools order?

Is there a way to view the product before purchasing?

Our product has to be ‘Felt to be believed!’  We have Independent Story Felt Consultants who would love to show you the range in person.  Why not consider holding a demonstration or Story Telling in your home?  Then you can see the felt up close, plus you receive 10% of the order total in free felt bonuses!  See our demonstration page for more details.

What is the difference between mounted and unmounted?

All of our printed backgrounds are available either mounted or unmounted.  The mounted backgrounds are adhered to corrugated plastic (the same product as many real estate signs).  This makes them strong but light.  Alternatively, you can choose to leave the backgrounds unmounted and lay them on a table, or over the top of another felt board.  Some of our customers purchase one plain Jumbo board, and then overlay the felt backgrounds when required.  This works well for multiple classroom use in schools.  However, the mounted versions look fantastic and are great for leaning against the wall in a child’s bedroom, or as a gift.

Why are the felt products provided uncut?

It doesn’t take long to cut out the figures, but it saves you money!  Story Felt would like to see as many children as possible experience the wonder of felt stories in their homes, schools or kindergartens.  We have worked hard to keep the cost of our products affordable.  All that is required is a sharp pair of scissors, and we have found that during the advertisements of your favourite TV show is a great time to cut them out.  However, if you would prefer to have your felt pre-cut, this service is available through your local consultant for a fee.  Please speak to your consultant for details.

There is no consultant in my area.  Can I still have a demonstration?

We also do catalogue demonstrations, and can provide you with the paperwork required.  Catalogue demonstrations over $200 will provide hosts with 10% of the order total in free felt.  See our demonstration information for more details, or contact us.

Of course, if there is no consultant in your area, that means we are looking for someone to sell Story Felt products in your area!  That person could be you!
